Photo of two 18 month old skin grafts to remove skin cancers. Basal Cell Carcinoma and Squamous Cell Carcinoma in-situ. There are 3 main types of skin cancer. The types I got are: 1. Basal Cell Carcinoma Most skin cancers are treatable unless you wait too long and pre-cancers are easily treated. Note that there is nothing on here about Malignant Melanoma. I am a patient and not qualified in medical matters in any way. The following is based on my experience. If you have any worries about your skin please see a qualified medical doctor. Personal experience of Actinic or Solar Keratosis (AK), Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) or Rodent Ulcer, Bowens Disease also known as Squamous Skin Cancer in situ. Treatment using Efudix (Efudex) cream, Cryotherapy, Curettage, Skin Grafts. Although I think the NHS has improved in the last few years I still get letters from people who have had bad experiences with non-recognition of skin cancers and poor advice on treatment options. Seems the patient needs to be an expert to get the best. This website just details my experience as a patient and lets you draw your opinions. |
